Our philosophy is linked to our school logo, the ‘Howden Tree’ – we like to think of it as ‘Our Philoso-tree’
At our school, we envision a thriving tree, deeply rooted in a foundation of knowledge, values, and community. Just as a tree draws strength from its roots, we cultivate a strong sense of belonging and support among children, staff and families.
The trunk represents our core values—ambition, respect, curiosity, community and resilience—providing stability and guiding us through challenges. From this trunk, our branches extend outward, symbolising the diverse talents and passions of our children. Each branch represents unique pathways to learning, allowing every individual to blossom in their own way.
The leaves, vibrant and full of life, signify the independence, creativity and innovation we foster. They capture the sunlight of inspiration, reminding us that education is not just about knowledge, but also about nurturing curiosity and critical thinking.
Together, we aim to create a canopy of collaboration and support, where children can grow, explore and reach new heights.
