Friends of the School

We have an active ‘Friends of the School’ consisting of a group of parental volunteers. All parents are automatically members of our Friends of the School. The support and fund-raising for the school from our Friends of the School is of great benefit to all our children. We host termly events which have recently included school fayres, children’s discos, competitions and much more.

Please remember, the group cannot survive without support from our parents and carers, so we would really encourage you to join in. It is your chance to make a difference to your child’s education and school life. Even just helping out for 30 minutes at our events would be greatly appreciated. It’s also good fun and a great way to meet new friends.

Our events are organised by parents from all years including the Nursery and some staff; we are always looking for new members, with new enthusiasm and new ideas for raising funds.

The money raised at Friends of the School events is always reinvested in school to provide a range of excellent equipment and resources for the benefit of all children in the school.

Please get in touch with the school office if you are interested.

Fundraising in School

As a school we are committed to supporting charities and other good causes. We regularly take part in national events such as Comic Relief Red Nose Day, Children in Need and the British Legion Poppy Appeal.

At Harvest time we have supported local organisations such as Parkland Residential Home and the Salvation Army Food Bank in Crook by providing them with our food donations.

This year, we are holding a Reindeer Run to raise money for St Cuthbert’s Hospice at Christmas.

We have also raised money for our own ‘Hobbit Hut’ in memory of our Nursery Manager which was installed in the school grounds and officially opened by our local councillor in Summer 2024. Children, parents and community made donations through events such as sponsored activities (Miss Atkinson climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge!), a fancy dress fun run, ‘Break the Rules Day’ and movie nights.
